Funeral Procession Bhajans સ્મશાન યાત્રા નાં ભજનો
The rāg of the bhajans sung during a funeral procession depends on the time of day. If the funeral procession is held between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM, the rāg is Bilāval (બિલાવલ). From 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, the rāg is Āshāvari (આશાવરી). From 12:00 Noon to Sunset, the rāg is Sārang (સારંગ). Additionally, bhajans in rāg Dhol (ધોળ) and/or Mangal (મંગલ) may be sung during a funeral procession.

These charchari bhajans are sung by bhaktas after cremation (antim-samskara અંતિમ સંસ્કાર) when they return to the home of the deceased. The first couplet is sung prior to entering the home and the rest of the bhajan is sung inside the home.
