sam-dashti-ne trushnā tyāgi, para-stri jene māt re
jihvā thaki a-satya na bole, par-dhan nav jhāle hāth re ... 2

મોહ માયા વ્યાપે નહિ જેને, દૃઢ વૈરાગ્ય જેના મનમાં રે;
રામ નામ શું તાળી રે લાગી, સકળ તીર્થ તેના તનમાં રે ...  ૩
moh māyā vyāpe nahi jene, druDh vai-rāgya jenā man-māň re
rām nām shuň tāli lāgi, sakal tirth tenā tan-māň re ... 3

વણલોભી ને કપટરહિત છે, કામ ક્રોધ નિવાર્યા રે;
ભણે નરસૈયોં તેનું દર્શન કરતા, કુળ ઇકોતેર તાર્યા રે ...  ૪
van-lobhi ne kapat-rahit chhe, kām krodh ni-vāryā re
bhane nar-sai-yo tenu darshan kar-tā, kul iiko-ter tāryā re ... 4

English Translation:
0.  He is the true Vaishnava who knows and feels another's woes as his own;
     While serving others in suffering and pain, doesn’t entertain pride in one’s mind.

1.  He respects everyone in the world around, and not denounces anybody;
     Blessed is his mother, who keeps his speech, deeds and thoughts pure.

2.  Viewing all equally, he rids himself of covetousness; reveres every woman as his mother.
     Never attempts to utter untruth by his tongue and does not covet wealth of others.

3.  Material attachments do not occupy his mind, it being deeply rooted in renunciation.
     Who recites name of Rama, dwells in spiritual realm, all pilgrimages dwell within him.

4.  One who has conquered greed and guileless, deceit, lust and anger;
     Says Narasinh, sight of such a Vaishnava alleviates one’s seventy-one generations.
